When adjusting my astig magnets, do I refer ONLY to the center of the screen even if the corners look worst, or do I try to keep the corners and edges fairly in tune?

Your main goal with the cpc magnets should be to achieve a perfectly symetrical energy
distribution in a round spot, which does not move at all during focus ramp. Use
the spots in the center of the screen as a guide. Be Certain to set all Focus and
Astig zones to Midposition before starting the process. Use a low res dot pattern (480P)
to do the cpc and astig - the dots will be easier to see. Work on the cpc's while
in the focus menu, and use the focus to expand your dots to see the energy
distribution, and then ramp the focus to see if the dots move on the screen.
Careful attention to achieve perfection here will really make your picture pop!

zGman speaks the truth. I probably owe him a whole bar's worth of beers for the help he's given me!

Center only. Ignore everything else. As mentioned earlier make sure the electronic stigs are at 50/50 or unplug the connectors.

Gary, look at my Astig/CPC guide for the PG series:

(unfortunately I haven't finished up the XG part of it, but the PG stuff should all be there)
