Even though the image is stunning I still wonder if the dot-shape is ok. When de-focussing the dot-pattern for adjusting the astig, the center dots can be made round (but the shape moves to a triangle quite fast when adjusted just a bit). The outer dots on the screen all are triangular...and the only thing I can do is to make the smalles trangles as possible...

Would this mean that the astig magnets need to be adjusted as well?....or is this triangle stuff normal (or has anyone seen this as well?)

To correct that, you usually need 6 pole magnets. It's tube dependent, should have nothing to do with the set/chassis.

To do initial mechanical stig adjustments, I disconnect the astig board yoke wires. That way you don't need to cancel out the settings to 50/50 all around, and electrically the stig board will contribute NOTHING to the mechanical astig adjustments.

Good idea to disconnect the astig board (no error codes or safety shot down by this?)

I astig-ed some more today...checking the setting by moving the focus up and doen to see if the dot moves in position...for red and blue it was spot on....but green kept moving (0,5...1inch) no matter what astig setting....always diagonal ...

I wondered if this electronic astig adjustment covers the same range as the "neck" astig adjustments....or that this is an indication that the neck-part is not within the correct range for the electronic astig to work correctly...

Your probabaly having a had time nulling the Green Astig or after you nulled them did you center the focus coils again? Astig Magnets will alter the raster on the tube face as well, some times a lot sometimes not at all. It all depends on how ALL the magnets are set up from the deflection yoke all the way back as they all work together, the focus and astig(CPC) work together the most. Some owners are too lazy to use the focus coil to center the raster and use the two pole astig mags to do it then settle with what they get with the rest. You may have to go back and forth till you can center the raster with out having the grid move at all.

Right and geographical location can change magnetics as well, Just moving from floor mount to ceiling mount will change the Astig magnets.

Been turning the CPC's and on the cross hatch centering the line went ok....
The "shape" ring didn't have hardly any influence on the shape at all....with stig connector detached or attached. Circle shape could be influenced with the stig conn attached again...but for green it is still not a perfect round dot.....

When in/de-creasing focus...blu and red stay in position and green still moves....so I guess it's not the CPC anymore causing this....

Focus coil...or anything else?

hmmmm i wonder if your CPC magnets lost some magnetism or you have a dead ring. Some look like 4 or 6 pole rings but one is blank, only way to tel is to swap them over to be sure.
