So I get my wired remote birthday present in the mail today. Chip you have PM. I patiently eat dinner, pay attention to my wife, then sneak out to the garage to find out whats up with my pj. Hoping to see a list of error codes, there's nothing, LCD lites up but displays nothing.
All four DIPs off
S1, S2, S3 all set to 0
High Voltage Fail ................... ON
Remote Control RS232 Fault ... ON (most attempts, but not always)
I2C Fault .............................. ON
I2C Active ............................. ON (most attempts, but not always. not flashing)
Monochrome ......................... OFF
CTS ..................................... OFF
RTS ..................................... OFF
+12V ................................... ON
+5V ..................................... ON
It bothers me that sometimes I get an RS232 fault and sometimes I dont. How much does it matter if LK1 and LK2 are jumped to simulate handshaking?
Talk about starting at the beginning.

The remote was tested ten minutes before boxing it up so I'm sure the problem is on your end. It worked perfectly with the 4000G that have here.

I'm guessing your CPU board memory battery is dead. THat wil often glitch the CPU so that it will not communicate with the remote.
Check the battery voltage, if it measures less than 3.5 volts, it's toast. I have replacements at $18.00.
It still might not fire up with a new battery, and I've never quite figured out why. This was only a problem with the earlier CPU boards, the later ones always fired up.
Usually the board will fire up if you toggle the master power switch between 10 and 100 times. Go figure. Eventually something 'shocks' the CPU into reacting, and you're good until the battery dies again.
If not, one of the chips might be shot, and you'd have to send me the CPU board to replace it, as the chips are no longer available.

Does the remote turn on the projector? If it does try entering entering 9 0 1 then press the code button. It might be in "quiet" mode.

Well at least you now have a easy way to track what ever error codes pop up. Your best bet is to have Curt look at the CPU board. I don't have any 2000/4000 boards unless I break up a working 4000G.
That's right Pete, all of my AmPro's are working
