Sounds a bit weird astig vs scheimpflug I must admit but...When adjusting the astig you have to defocus for adjusting the as-close-as-possible-match to a circle spot...and while doing this I noticed a substantial L-R difference in size (defocussed) of the spots....would that mean that the Scheimpflug is set incorrectly (and perhaps this is also a good way to set the scheimplug?)? Or is this something else and needs scheimpflug be adjusted on a in-focus text/resolution pattern ?

Seems like you would need to look at the tube face to see whether
the same effect shows up - It can be really frustrating sorting out the last
little bit, and you have to distinguish between electronic and optical focus,
which pretty much comes down to squinting inside the lenses to find out.
