Anyone know for sure if those numbers are an 8 of 9 inch tube?

Hello

I have not seen that part number anywhere, better pull the covers and look for the label on the tube bell.

I asked Nathan at VDC what kind it was and he told me its a 9 inch LUG !!!! Woo Hooo!!! he said it need a special VNB 03-270340-02P, But this looks like it has everything, and I can mod the VNB easy, alot easier than the VNB mod for a sony pin out tubes i have . Just waiting from Nathan to see if its rebuild or new.

Not sure if you can tell this way, but I asked him to measure the tube diagonally, and he said it was 5" across. I would think that would make it an 8500LC but did not have one to compare it to.

If that is an 9" lcp and you don't want it, I would be a buyer for the tube. Got stuff to trade as well.

What he measured was the c-element, its 5 inches across and when looking into it it makes the tube face look the same size because of the concave shape of the C-element, i got Lucky if that is what he told everyone!!!!! I didn't ask anything , just held on to my balls and said GO !!!

The package comes tomorrow, hopefully i'll be home and not at work. This tube will work better for me any how but i still need that other housing, Hopefully they find it or at least they refund me the money for it.

And yeah I do suck ! Very Happy

PS: those sony tubes seem to work fine, i did the power cord to the VNB wrong and was burning out the Diodes and resistors on the VNB, no damage to the tube, the red worked fine with no Arc but I think the Green has some crud near the pins in the neck area, I wanted to watch some movies so i took the assembly out of the PJ, but I think if i leave it connected for a long period it will eventually burn it off, i think I'll tap the tube neck too to try to shake it down, but this might lodge it in another place and that might not be so good, what do you guys thinks.

Are there any more of these Sony tubes left. I'd like to try and adapt one to a AmPro neck board. What was the actual pinout that finally worked for you?

Yes he has some used and some new, here is the pin out for the tube and TSE marked them in for a Marquee neck board. I think they will work fine, Aferg tested three, one of each color, on a Marquee modded VNB the way i did it in the 09MEX thread started by Voodoo. They worked good for him and he said using the stock marquee focus coils and magnetics it was nice and sharp, you can see in my pics it looked good also with no CPC magnets on it yet and none of the magentics full secured. it was just a quick test. I bet it can be done for any neck board that is PCB style sockets like the marquee VNB, if not i am sure someone with ingenuity can make them work. PM me if you want his e-mail address .
