Hi,
First of all, i'm not sure if my question belong to this section of the forum, but i'm going to ask anyway.
Last week, I bought a Xbox 360 20GB HDMI version($199 at BB). After I install the box into my setup, I tried to find the best resolution to run the games. I went into the console video setup but the 1080i option is greyed out. I can only select 480p 720p or 1080p. Both 480p and 720p look great and the 6PG Xtra can't handle 1080p. I really want to try 1080i to see if there is any improvement over 720p but no matter what i do, i can't select it. please help.
my setup:
xbox360 ---> hdmi ---> Denon 2808 ---> hdmi ---> HDFury ---> NEC 6PG Xtra

There must be an EDID in the Denon which tells the Xbox that 1080i is not an option for output. Hook it up to a tv which WILL allow 1080i, then try to see if you can select it as an output again, then if you can, select it and "save" it, then hook it up again to your projector.
I think the 6PG Xtra is *just* capable of displaying 1080p, btw...

yup, it scans to 69 kHz and 1080p60 needs just over 67 kHz.

From my experience with my 6PG and my 360, the scan lines in 1080i are too obvious. I would say 720p to be the best resolution. Plus, most of the media on the 360 is already encoded at 720p.

thank you all for the reply,
i kind of updated my HDfury with new EDID to make it work with Denon, so i guess maybe i modified something to make the 1080i not working.
kschmit2: you sure the 6pg xtra can handle 1080P? i thought it will only handle up to 720p/1080i

I can run 1080p into my 6pg xtra, but it look terrible. My sony 1272 looked better trying to handle 1080p than the nec does.
But, 720p at 72hz is fricking wild on the nec!

A video scaller will do that for you. You'll need one that can handle high def.
