Just wanted to get some thoughts as to why this might be happening. I FINALLY GOT AROUND to installing John's DVI card into my G90. I know that the clamp has to be set to H/C so I did that. Now, I have my PS3 going to my Lumagen HDP via a HDMI/DVI cable. And then from my Lumagen via DVI out to John's DVI on my G90. I have an intro saved to my PS3 that plays perfectly with no problems as does my DirectTV HD satelite HDMI --> DVI feed. However, when I play a blu-ray (I am Legend) I get some distortion in the lower 1/4 of the pic. This distortion is in the form of like banding that changes brightness. It's not the same as before I changed the clamp setting to H/C but it is somewhat similar. I have my PS3 set to 1080I out and the Lumagen is outputting 1080P/60. Also, I do have the updated EDID in John's DVI card.

Any ideas? Maybe I have a couple settings wrong in the PS3?

Thanks for all your help!!!!

why not set the sony to output 1080p24? and then have the lumagen do 1080p60 or 48 is what i like. you may have to alter the timmings in the lumagen, the front and back porches.

Damn!!! I KNEW there was going to be something more than just the standard that has to be done. Most of this stuff just goes over my head.

I'll have to see if I have a cable long enough so I can set it up on the porch! Smile

On a serious note, how do I set it to 1080p/24? I think it always checks for the appropriate rez and keeps coming up 1080i.

Thanks!

to get the Lumagen to output 1080p24 you need to go into the menu of the lumagen for EDID. In there you can set what input resolution that input will accept. you scroll through the inputs and select either yes or no or is on and off, either way you understand, so turn off all the resolutions except 1080p24, it should then output that rez if the PS3 has that capability. then for standard dvd set up an input to accept 481 and have the lumagen do the upscaling. you might get lucky and not have to set up another input memory as my LG Blu ray player will out put 480i out the HDMI on the same input i only set to 1080p24, i dont know why but it does. And its not suppose to output 480i out the HMI only 480p. Maybe you'll be lucky with the PS3.

So I changed something in the BD set up menu to "auto" (I honestly can't remeber what) and it seems to have fixed whatever I was seeing. It is rock solid now. I will eventually have somone that knows what the hell they are doing come out and dial in all my sources now that I am running them through the DVI card.

Thanks!
