|
|
I began building Son of Barkenstein a while ago, and then put him away to finish later. I pulled it out of storage because my new place has a smaller room which I'll be setting up for gaming/watching tv and will be using the SOB to achieve a 72" wide image in the smaller room. It works perfectly with the stock Retro lenses which are good for about an 80" wide image in a short distance. When I brought it home, I found the blue LC chamber seal was broken and all Glycol was gone (thank god I had removed the tubes & lenses from the pj for storage, so the PJ itself is not affected). The blue already had wear and I had a new blue so I exchanged them.
It is now set up and going strong but the R & G both were spot burned when the Retro 801s died (free because of this, just had to go pick the beast up). I have a new red now but am looking for a good green to go with the other two new tubes.
Anyone have a new or "9" condition Retro 801/801s green LC tube they want to sell or trade?
Would converting a regular 07MSP/MP be possible?

Saw that before. That is for the Retro 808 not the lowly 801 like I want.

I've gots... from a RetroData 801.
Don't remember if it was you that I was PMing before about sharing a tube... I think we both spotted something shiny and wandered off.
Let me get pics of the face tonight and post them.

Retrodata 801 green with pattern burn. This had been a picturetel system with a small window of motion video top-right. The vertical line you see is the left edge of this window. I need to confirm that the horizontal line is a streak in the glass and won't effect projection.
There is also a perceivable "PICTURETEL SYSTEMS" burn (looked to have been a fine line font) on the bottom, outside of 16:9 area.
Make an offer, plus actual shipping.
