|
|
I have a PJI EXT+HD which has a "shake" to it. My $100. HD Fury Gamer Edition produces a rock solid image, but the more expensive Moome has a shake with all sources which won't go away.
How do I get this fixed/replaced ? Is there a warranty coverage ?

Has anyone else experienced this picture shaking with the Moome EXT-HD ??
This is disappointing considering the cost and reviews of this product. I expected it to be much better than the far less expensive HD Fury Gamer Edition, but with this issue, it can't even compete...

Your address for Moome won't accept anything from a Yahoo address, you have to use his direct address...

I've had a few of the ext hd versions and have never had a problem like that.

You're lucky, its a very annoying problem, and it doesn't look like its going to be addressed by the maker, I've gotten two, very brief, non-committal emails from Moome and he pointedly did NOT provide an address for warranty repair. This problem makes my supposedly more valuable piece of equipment worthless. I couldn't in good conscience sell a piece of equipment that wasn't working properly.

I emailed Moome about my intermittant power connection problem, and in my case I got a very short email answer back saying yes send it back for repair. I have the address on the original box I had - but I wasn't sure whether to send it back to Moome or Barry.
In any event I didn't feel appropriate/worthwhile to send it back all the way to Taiwan for a power connection problem so took the box apart and resoldered the three connection pins on the board like three times. This didn't fix anything. It turns out my problem is in the HP power pin, not the jack on the board. I get a solid power connection using another 9 vdc supply, unfortunately that is only rated at 350 mA and the box says to use a 1 A supply. I suppose I will just buy a connector locally and cut then end off the 2 A HP supply and hope I get the polarity right on the splice.
Edit - I did end up shipping it back to Moome after all when it got pretty bad staying off and my 350 mA wouldn't work either. But its expensive to Taiwan- Fed Ex wanted $120 minimum so I went USPS and that was $40.

I'd actually be happy to get an email saying "send it back for warranty repair" because as of now, this box is worthless.

Nope. And mine was one of the first batch that needed the other fixes. Moome sent me the parts at my request, and I installed them. No issues since then.

Further testing has shown the Moome does not like my Monoprice HDMI switcher. The shaking only occurs when the switch is in the chain, when I remove the switch, the shaking is gone. My mistake.
However, now I have to decide between keeping the Moome which will not work properly with the switch which allows me to have my HD-A1 attached to it, or keep the Moome and buy another switch hoping it will work with the HD-A1 which has proven to be awfully picky about its HDMI connection status...

I tryed a Monoprice 4x1 HDMI 1.3 switch and it wouldn't work with the full HD on 1080p, then I tryed an Oppo HDMI switch and it worked perfect on 1080p. So the problem was the Monoprice and not the Moome HDMI unit. Now I'm stuck with a Monoprice unit because by the time I pay to ship it back and get a refund it will cost me half of what it cost. Monoprice crap!

Hi Moome,
I wouldn't bother using this one, like I said it doesn't work on 1080p. I would say I just got a bad one as I have heard some say they worked okay for them.

Hi Moome,
Did you still want me to send you the Monoprice HDMI switcher?
