It's nice to see a camera that gives the professional film AND video camera manufacturers -- Panaovision, Sony, and Panasonic -- a serious run for their money! I'd love to see Red make a prosumer camera with a 1920x1080p sensor that can shoot 24p with full manual controls, detachable lenses, a standard lens mount, and recording to flash memory for under $2k.

Mike, Red's close to your specs with the entry-level Scarlet at its projected $3000 - minus the lens.
I don't see anything coming along for $2000 with a removable lens in the near future but the Scarlet is close if you can scrounge up another grand.

Actually, the Nikon D90 is close to what you want... If people like the new 720p 24fps capture mode, then maybe in the next rev - say, 2 years from now - they'll go to full 1080p capture. Next year? Who knows what Canon will come up with, too.
Couple more years, I'd say...
