I decided I really need a good soldering station quickly, so a craigslisting I went...
Struck out searching for "soldering" so I decided to expand my search scope a little and searched for "electronics test" (without the quotes.)
This is what I found:
http://boston.craigslist.org/sob/gms/807646330.html

Turns out the guy is a pro installer who used to own a service shop in Cali...
For the princely sum of $160USD I got:
A Weller dual-wand digital soldering station (missing one wand) including half a dozen new weller tips
A Sencore bench power supply (0-15VDC, 30A)
A Sencore isolation transformer (isolating variac) with leakage probe
A B&K Precision 2160 60MHz 2 channel 'scope with a single 10x probe (this has video triggering AND a component tester)
A Klipsch plate subwoofer amp to make active my DIY passive sub, working and apparently new.
A couple miscellaneous loose items (heat transfer paste, flux scrubber, solder sucker, and a few cables.)

I think I did alright! Very Happy

There was a Yard Sale Moth fluttering about and pestering the guy... with every question the Moth asked the prices went up Wink

One thing I missed was a Mitsubishi HDMI switching STB with analog inputs up to HD component that came with some Mitsu TV or other... He used it for some time as a bench scaler for testing HD sets. That went to the Moth for $45... I should have grabbed that also, I can use it Right Now.
It did not even dawn on me to ask about the second wand for the Weller... it was probably there somewhere. I grabbed his business card... perhaps tonight I'll call.

He had a lot more stuff too... Sencore CR-70, Sencore SD test pattern generator, Sencore 80MHz 2 channel scope and waveform analyzer, B&K high voltage (40kV) probes, a bore scope (colonoscopy anyone? Shocked Shocked Shocked ) various pro hand tools (cabling and construction,) other less interesting STBs... it was a veritable toystore. I had to get the hell out of there or risk collecting things I actually wouldn't use!

I know... I've already saved four P19s and three P16s with mine!
Where are you and what is your price ceiling? I'll ship the thing to you.

Good luck... Mine was $130ish delivered and looks like it was sat upon by an elephant. It works, tho.
I may pick up this one and flip mine for a C note. Any takers? (tested, working, used to save a bunch of P tubes already.)
