I can adjust the brightness control with the on screen numbers showing up or down but with no effect to the actual brightness. Curt or any G70 users could you please advise.

Thanks Mike

What is the current brightness of the pic? Is it dim, fairly normal or bright?

I know the D50s are plagued with this, not the G70s. It could be the PA board, or in the case of a G90 I had here, the CPU board(Ya/Yb) weren't sending data out to the video circuits. Same thing, numbers ramped up and down, nothing happened within the set though. Mind you, on the G90 that was for ANY function, not just the brightness.

If you want, send me the PA board and the RGB input board for testing, the brightness circuits are on that board as well..

The BA board for RGB input is the one you repaired for me so that should not be at fault. I will see if I can borrow a PA board to eliminate the problem before I get into intercontinental shipping. Thanks for the advice Curt.

Regards Mike

Curt, I cannot find a PA board in the exploded diagragm of the service manual. Did you mean the YA board? ( ignore this post I have found the PA board location )

Regards Mike
