Hi, all. I knew I wasn't going to be using my Marquee 8500 for a few weeks, so I unplugged the set and let it sit. Tried to fire it up last night and the LVPS diagnostic light came on.

I saw this thread and this one, so I have a lot of ideas on where to start looking for the problem: pull the CLM, look for problems there, remove, clean and re-seat the ICs, unplug the neck board, unplug the wired keypad, and so on.

My question is whether I should take any clues from the fact that the unit was working fine, then unplugged for 6 weeks, then failed immediately when plugged in again.

Hello

Probably a coincidence and not likely a failed lvps. Look at the red leds behind the front grill, see if one is flashing and tell us which led.

Thanks for the suggestion.

So far, I've pulled the DCM, VIM, Stig board, focus board, HDM, and convergence board. When I try to plug in, the yellow standby light comes on and I can feel the fan from the LVPS. If I try to power up, I get a steady red LED for the LVPS on the back of the chassis.

Looking at the front of the projector, I see 8 red LEDs on the LVPS. Only the first LED is lit (closest to the plug, or on the left as I am looking at the front of the projector. It glows steady, it does not blink. Does that mean something?

Hello

If upright, this is the sequence:

LVPS LEDs

left -15 -85 -24 +5 +24 +85 +15 right

Some board that needs -15v may have a shorted device on it.

Are these the Marquees that were produced by AmPro? There seems to be quite a few lately. Wink

Thanks, again, Tim. I pulled everything I could out of the chassis, including the keypad, but still had the LVPS failure. I pulled the LVPS out of the unit and plugged it in. Separate from any thing else, the 1st LED on the LVPS glows a steady red. I'm thinking it might be the power supply?

Hello

Trying another lvps seems to be the next step for you.

Thanks, both. I'll give a new power supply a shot, see what happens.

Bought a used LVPS on eBay and plugged that into the chassis. At the same time I replaced the lithium battery. System powers up fine now, but the red tube seems a little hesitant. I went through the guided interpolation and each time I switched from the blue to the red tube, the red image took a second or two to appear. I'm guessing it's a bad or loose contact that I messed up when putting everything back together. Is there a likely culprit?
