It is basically like a modulator that puts your computer output onto the coax as a channel "Zv" and any ATSC or QAM (not sure) tuner in the house can tune it in as HDTV with 5.1 surround sound (if the source is surround I presume).

But for $499 you might as well just buy another computer.

Interesting. Add HDFury, and a Box1020 and you'd do the HDMI to cable thing. Thumbs Up
