My XG was adjusted the brightness correctly according DVE's PLUGE pattern, but after maybe 600hrs, I find my XG's black washed out, so I have to dial ten click brightness control to keep the PLUGE pattern correct. Is it normal for CRT projector? If not, what's going wrong?

SYC,
10 clicks is not normal (AKB) but need more info on the source or if the signal properties have changed. If it was a small change turning on AKB for a bit could correct.
On the Blu-ray players changing HDMI out levels could mess with it so there may be something that you haven't noted over the 600 hrs of use. Doug

I don't think it is normal too. My source is a up-scaling DVD player via HDMI, a laptop computer, and a satalite tuner. Except the tuner, which I can't judge because it don't have a reference image, the ohter two have the same brightness drop, so I think it should be caused by XG itself. Is there any other thing I can test?

SYC,
Check the video input using the video in connection. See if video has the same problem. Doug
What are the RGBHV cables connected to or how are you getting the devices into the projector and are they using the same input and signal entry?

doug-
what do you think about leaving AKB on all the time? My friend's sony 1292 forces it on but it's optional on NEC.

Jesse,
Just know the NECs and they run AKB in the off position by default and dont need that darn line up to tell it what to do. Every now and then you can balance by turning on for a few minutes (noted in the service manual) but thats about all it needs. Doug

Doug,
My connection is as follows:
DVD player->HDMI->Moome''s card HDMI input
Laptop computer->2m VGA breakout cable->RGBHV input port
Satellite tuner->Moome's card component input
I will try video input to see what happens, but I've never use it before, so what I can do is to see if the brightness setting is far from other inputs.

Doug,
My Moome card is the type internally installed in XG.
