I have done a few XG G2 adjustments using the excellent "NEC XG G2 Calibration" guide in the Advanced Procedures Section and all has gone well.

This time, however, I ran into a snafu. First, all the G2 voltage checks with AKB test switch on were right on 2.5 volts as they should be. All went well until Step "E" where "Bright Gain" is adjusted. I had to adjust it all the way to zero to get the black edges of the two ramps to meet.

My test signal was from the Avia disc in a Panny Blu-Ray set to 1080i on the component output. I also noticed that I have to set brightness at 100% to get close to not crushing all blacks.

It almost seems that I have a colorspace problem, but I don't think that is it.

BTW - The other times I have done this successfully, I was using a VP50 scaler for the signal - Shouldn't really matter!

Any ideas on what I am missing?

Thanks,
Bob

Start again from scratch...

Sometimes this just goes haywire. Start over.

Thanks! I'll give it a shot.
BTW, are you getting the new high bandwidth blenders from TVOne? They still are claiming a mid June delivery, so I'm getting anxious!

No, one projector uses enough electricity for me.

I don't think that was Mark, he considers two projectors in one theater an irresponsible waste of energy, if I am not mistaken Shocked

But I am looking forward to hearing about your results. Thumbs Up

Edit: he beat me to it!

Mike

My bad! Actually as long as twice a many people view it, I think it should be more efficient than a single projector setup!?!?

Mark - My problem is that I am too impatient! Sure enough, I just normalized all the settings first and everything fell into place.
Thanks for the advice!
