I have a Sony 1252 that I have had for a while and recently after a while of viewing I loose the light output on the RED and GREEN tubes (and less often all three tubes). The only way to get the tubes to "glow" again is to power off the projector and power it back on.

Is this problem something simple or MAJOR?!

HELP Please

Dude with a crt problem! Or maybe a problem with a crt!

It's not the CRTs itself.

When the image goes out, do the test patterns or menus still work?

What input are you running? Video or RGB? Have you tried another input when it dies?

The projector is being fed a signal from a Toshiba HD-A2 player component transcoded to VGA by a Crescendo RTC2200. I am using the VGA input 1 on the projector. I have never tried to bring up one of the internal menus after a color goes out. I will give your suggestion a try; this should pin down if the problem is in the input card, source path, or a projector problem correct?

Thanks

The problem must be something with the projector because the internal menu prompt loose color as well as the video feed signal.

Would this possible be a power supply problem?

I switched the VGA card from slot one to slot two and the tube color failure did not change.

Bummer! Thumbs Down
