I'd like to ask someone on this board to see if I can borrow your 12xx remote, preferably the one with the added registration adjustments. I will pay for all shipping costs AND, if you need a deposit for the value of the remote I can provide it prior to receiving the remote.

I have OmniRemote for my Palm and want to use the learning function to get the entire RM 1271 remote on my Palm.

Thanks in advance!

Can't you download all that stuff from RemoteCentral.com?

They have palm pilot files with all the 12xx codes.

??

Wait a sec... I think I'm confusing palm pilot with a pronto.... Sorry about that.... I was mixed up.

Still I bet you can get codes you need from RemoteCentral.

What is the interface like on the Palm, I've never used one but it seems like it would be a pain to setup the projector that way?

I would keep an eye out on Ebay for the 12xx remotes, they seem to be selling cheap compared to something like the G70 remote.

I agree... I don't think the Palm will be a very good solution here.

Some buttons you have to hold down as you increase the values like size or lin.

Other buttons have a different code for if you just bump the button vs. holding it down like the centering controls.

12xx usually go cheap from parted out 12xx's on the bay.

The Pilot thingie may be fun but I think you will enjoy having the "real" remote when setting up the pj.

The Palm software I have for the learning remote is actually really good. It does have the option to program buttons for volume functions (where you need to hold down the button). I have programmed all my remotes on it and it really works great. It's nice to have the Palm's backlight for the dark as opposed to having to turn on the light to see the DVD remote.

I just bought the remote on eBay for $30! Seems better to just buy at this price.

Good call. I thought I had an extra and I was going to loan it to you, but I couldn't find it - which means, I probably didn't have one. Besides, you would have spent $10 just on shipping to borrow one, and no you have one of your very own.

It'll be handy for you, I think. You can use it to program the stuff you do frequently (power, inputs, brightness, contrast, etc.), but still use the Sony remote for setups. I don't think the Palm/stylus combo would be too handy for doing geometry and convergence.
