|
|
Been playing the PS3, and today, turn on the G70, everything is normal, 2 minutes in to the game and the screen just freaks out, all there is, is like video noise, thought the ps3 crapped out, switched inputs on the receiver to my tuner, looked like it worked for a sec, than the 'noise' again. Turned off everything and tried again, but the warmup screen is interlaced looking, big gaps and slight up-down movement, hooked up my ps2 to the rca video and same issue, the error '10' came on also, but when off again. I had a convergence board issue before and cleaned it and have been fine since, this is totally different, the red was all over on that issue. Any ideas where to start? Thanks.
The 1st is no input, the send 2 are from the ps3 thru the receiver. Hard to really see but the 'noise' is also on top of the menu display

If it's not a bad cable or source, then all I can think of is a bad B board (RGB input board) or bad Ya/Yb booard.

Anyway to check? If the ya/yb board is acting up, is there anything it won't do? Like pull up the menu, etc?

Other than swapping boards, no. Frankly I've never had that problem with a G70 before, that's why I'd double check input signals and cables, but I'd guess it was the B board before the CPU boards.

well I cleaned the dust and reseated, no difference. I ran a s-video and rca (verified working on my old 1031). I can access all the menues like normal, however, when I pull the menu up, the video noise is on top of the menu screens, it looks like the sync is way off, any other ideas? The error 10 has not showed back up. This is driving me crazzzy(

I had something similar once.
I believe I was using the internal sync for the component input. It would sync most of the time.
I believe I now run component with Ext. sync. Seemed to work either way but was more stable with external sync?

I have swapped out the B board (input) with a tested part, menus work fine before, during and after, but as soon as video is supplied it gets all scrammbled like the sync is bad, tried a lone rca input on my 1031 and was fine, put into the g70 and same issue, any ideas?
