I was reading the Definitive CRT Projector Setup Guide and I was curious to know if the Sonys had the "toe in" feature?
Thanks again! This could be the reason,my red is ALWAYS drifting even after warmup and convergence.

No, that's set via spacers only. If you have the right spacers, then you should be fine.

Curt, Im thinking this may be my issue. The red is ALWAYS drifting I find myself going back several times during the movie to adjust the red. Screen is around 4x8 and the red seems as if it reached its limit of adjustment a lot sooner than the blue. After about the third or fourth time it looks ok. But the red drift is driving me crazy!

If you're around the 96" wide, the M spacers are almost perfect. If you different size screen and your rasters aren't centered, then do the spring mod and lose the spacers altogether.
For what it's worth, my rasters were perfectly centered on my 1271, and my red drifted, too. It wasn't a big deal, though. A couple of clicks on zone 1, and it was right back in line. It was pretty stable once it was warmed up.

Mine seemed to drift on red too. It got much better after doing the spring mod, like the electronics didnt have to work as hard or something. I set the red and blue convergence to the factory setting and adjusted the toe-in to converge it after it was good and warm, it hardly moved at all after that.

Given the age and unknown hour count I may be in the market for a new unit. I have a 1272 with bad tubes abut it has NEVER been turned on while I have had it. May be time to upgrade.
