|
|
I have an Ampro 4600 with RGBHV connection.
I am purchasing a DLP small backup projector (Optoma HD73) for when it is out of service. Which is a lot lately ;(
Can I just hook the red, blue, and "T" connector the green and vertical sync cable to hook the existing cabling up to the new projector, because it has component?
Or will I have to hook it up another way? I really need to use the current cabling because it is run in the walls and ceiling. The projector also has DVI and HDMI, but I really don't want to spend another couple hundred bucks on my backup to hookup one of these way.
Thank for your help.
Bobby

Even though the colors of the cables are the same, component is a totally different than RGB. To convert RGB to component, you need a device called a transcoder. See this page:

So, yes - you could use your cabling, but not without spending some money.
What's your source? Maybe your source would output component over the same cabling.

You need a cable like the one above with BNC connectors on the end that will connect direct to the cable you use now (or five BNC male-male connectors)

Ecrabb,
The projector can accept DVI-A throught the DVI port so all you need is a reverse RGBHV breakout cable a "RGBHV break-in cable"
