I've been tweaking again and decided to put back my contract mod board to see if it makes any difference before I give it up.
So I hook it all up (I think the right way) but it doesn't like something.
Upon power up the unit sounds normal for first 5 secs then intermittently swithes off (like a very quick power cycle). It does this twice then shuts right down.
Please help.

That's usually a failure or short in the set. It senses the fault, shuts the set down, but then reboots and tried again. Does it work normaly with teh contrast mod out?

I seem to have got around the power issue. The difference is that I disconnected a 3pin (3wire) cable from the cont mod. board and it runs fine. I'm now second guessing where the other end goes (and it's function for that matter). The other end is a 7pin connector. Tried it on the connection atop the Vboard but it would not power up (ie. with symptom described above).
There is another connection on the RGB Input labeled ICBL. Can it be that one. I need to start ruling things out.
