I have my PG running with a pretty wide raster- ~4-5mm from the edge of the tube face at the widest point, and notice some seagulling towards the top and bottom of the grid test patterns and all other video sources.

Is there any way to reduce this seagulling besides decreasing raster width?

Will installing a point convergence board be able to handle fixing the geometry and/or convergence issues I now have due to the seagull? I am 95% converged without any point currently installed, but the seagull areas are impossible to get perfect with the standard convergence controls.

While a point card can help correct minor geometry problems, you shouldn't use point to correct for more than probably 1 line width of the internal test grid.

Personally, I try to get convergence w/o point to be within 1/2 to 1 line width of my external source grid (1920x1080, line width: 1 pixel), i.e. 1/2 to 1 pixel accuracy prior to point.

I do have to correct the geometry in the top left corner a bit though, and use point convergence for that. It's probably a section of 1/10 to 1/20 of screen width, and the dent I have there prior to point adjustments corresponds to about 1 to 1.5 line width of the internal test grid.
I cannot fully correct it, as that results in image breakup at those asjustment points, so I just went as far as possible (which is almost enough, and no longer a distraction)
See the screenshots in this thread for the corruption that too much point convergence will cause. Note also that I have since then installed new tubes.
