All of a sudden every time I start up the 4600 the HVPS will restart. It started about a week ago. It would restart itself within the first couple of minutes from turning it on. Now it will "click" but no picture and the HVPS is restarting on the start up. Once it is on it stays on the rest of the time that I use it. sometimes it is on for 8-10 hours with out a problem. But restarting EVERY time I turn it on is worrying me.

Hey it has about 5500 hrs. on it so that is pretty good seeing how this is the first problem that I have had with it.

Reseat and resolder the sub board inside the HVPS. That can be it.

I had similar issues with my 3600. Many of the joints on the cards in the HVPS needed to be touched up. Its been 2 years now with no restarts. It is really easy to get to these boards, but Spellman used a hell of a lot of screws on these. You will probably find brown spots around the power transistors mounted on the rear edge of the bottom board. These can get real hot with the joints begin to open and then the solder can even melt and flow away from the leads.
