To say the least. To be honest, if the rig was the reason, I'd be real happy to put this to bed. I used it without the RPS system for the first couple of months, and I would definitely sacrifice clarity to not deal with shadows and skewed RGB light when someone gets up. Not to mention, I don't need a completely black room to enjoy a good picture. To me, that more than makes up for a soft image, even though I see the softness more often then I think about those things.
I had no intention of getting an 8", but for some reason clicked on the add, saw the RPS system and said, "That is what I must have". 5 hours in a car, and the price of mediocre digital PJ, seemed like a worthwhile cause.
Based on prices I've seen, I think I over paid for the marquee by a couple hundred bucks. I figured at the price, the Marquee would be a great introduction and could be a throw away. At the rate I've been improving and the number of things you can do to it, I'm continually reevaluating that attitude.

Been reading up on AC vs LC and various things people do to improve the AC halo, which of course had me taking my mounting plates off out of curiosity.
I saw enough polished metal to make a disco ball seem dull. Aside from that, and the open gaps between the tubes as well as the cheesy gray paint that doesn't seem to stop a lot of reflection, is it possible the lack of sharpness is actually due to haloing. I know its not light on dark, but I'd think you could still get the halo.
On another note, I'm starting to hate CRTs. If they weren't so much fun to take apart, I'd spend a lot more time watching movies.
