The 1031Q can run virtually silent by disabling its fans. I think it should be moved to the intermediate level. Twisted Evil

I've had great success replacing most the fans in my 1292 with Noctua 120mm and 80mm fans with the included speed reducing resistors .This has made more of a difference than any of the other fan replacements I have performed on other 1292s( these include Panaflo, Pabst ,Silenx and PC Power and Cooling, all with and without zeners ) .My 1292 is now quieter than the G90 I once owned, way less obtrusive, but not as quiet as a modified Marquee. All in all I can live with the small amount of noise coming from it now.I think that replacing the two from 92mm fans with the Noctua's will reduce the noise even further. The 120mm and 80 mm have been installed for 4 months now and I have not noticed any adverse effects ,however YMMV

And what's that supposed to mean? People have a better understanding nowadays of what makes a CRT PJ produce accurate colors. I'm sure the people that designed and built these CRT's knew now to get accurate colors. Some of them just choose lumen output over more accurate colors, which was a wise choice when building a PJ for boardrooms or control centers...

Deron, I'm talking about the consumer. Since I got involved with CRT PJs, the general knowledge about all things CRT has vastly grown for the end user. Take P16s or P19s, correctly color filter them, calibrate the white balance, and you'll have very accurate colors. I don't know about other model CRT tubes, but I imagine it's true for all of them. As far as color goes, there's no magic in achieving good color.

PS: You need to go look at the list. You're getting all worked up for nothing.

Yeah, you are right, I'm getting worked up over nothing. But I did have some free time on my hands and I like to point out that (and anyone that has owned one will agree) the 10PGs kick ass.

Deron.
