I understand that a port 3 upgrade could be possible for a Barco 1100 using a R7621055 board.
Has this been tried and if so was it worth the effort?

There was a port 3 upgrade thread over at AVS that inspired me enough to do the mod... not sure if its' what you're thinking of...
Solder coax to the port 3 board pins down at the VME socket in order to bypass the DB9 connector and make it true 75 ohm with BNCs... I did this with both a BG801 and RetroData801 with good results.

I am looking for feed back from anyone who has placed a R7621055 port 3 board from a later model Barco into a Barco based on the 800 chasis. Does this board operate in the Barco 800 (in my case 1100) and does it produce a worthwhile picture improvement?
I can see lots have looked at this thread and Curt tells me he believes that forum members have tried this so it would be great to get some feed back
Thanks

Thanks for pointing that out but I have read that thread thats what got me started on this. I really need help with the following;
1 is there a significant image improvement when using this port 3 board over port 5 on a barco 1100.
2 where is the chassis number located.
Thanks
KM
