What makes a tube red or blue or green besides the glycol? Is there a difference in the phosphor or the gun? Question

Yes, there is a difference in the phosphor. The phosphor is always a mixture and never pure phosphor to specify the colour. The gun is the same in all three tubes.

Here's a great page that shows some of the chemical compounds used to emit the proper wavelengths of light for a video display:

Tinted glycol is used on some air-coupled (AC) projectors in the green and red to get the colours closer to the correct SMTPE-C primary values. Blue is already perfect.

For liquid-coupled (LC) projectors, you cannot tint the glycol as the area is concave. You'd end up with darker area out the outside and lighter in the middle. You need to change the clear c-element for tinted ones.
