I just did a few days at 1080i on my G70 but once again the ability to see scan lines from my seat forced me back to 1080p.

I'm confident it's not fully resolved as well as it could be (I mean there could be big scan lines at 1080p too if the pj was up to that) but it's the best looking way to go for me.

I'm in the same boat with the NEC XG but for scope movies if you have a scaler or in my case HTPC you can run 1920X800p and stretch image to remove the black bars.
