What a jerk. Is there some rule on ebay against this, that we can call him out on?

I'm not worried. Almost everyone that owns a CRT knows about my site. THere was another site charging for manuals long before I put them up for free. Heck, maybe it's an ex g/f trying to cash in?

Looks like he downloaded it all..now he is going to burn it to CD then sell it. Sucks that curt does all the work and this guy epoits it. Curt post the same add then have a link directing it to your site. Screw this Guy!

NO the Manuals have been posted many times, by a lot of different people!! all offering manuals on disk long before Curt posted them here .
Most of the manuals Here have been donated to the forum or by Kal getting them from other places .
Curt did not write the manuals or owns the rights to them so how could you think curt could do anything about it .
Also this guy is offering SERVICE Manuals, some people might find the Four bucks worth it .
Curt's site does not Have service Manuals so it does not interfere with his service business .
In fact you might have just lost Curt a service call by showing this guy's auction for service manuals for so cheap

Apparently you dont know this site very well. Every manual that guy has listed on his auction is on this site, including service manuals, except for the Nec service manuals which were on here before but were removed. Also some of the info is not available anywhere else.
Although your correct he doesn't own the rights to them but he did put in the effort to make them available here for free, gathering and compiling and putting in order for other's to use for free. Thats the annoying part, profiting from someone else's efforts and goodwill. There's no dought they were downloaded from here.
And saying that pointing out this auction may cause Curt to loose business is just ridiculous. Curt gives out more free advise then this guy could every make in a hundred years. Most people that go to Curt for business don't even know how to read a schematic.

Hey, maybe we should email him with techy questions? That would be really funny.. I say let's do it. All at once. As you read this, click on 'ask seller a question'. Ask him stuff like if it's a metal halide or halogen bulb used in a MArquee projector.

Here's what I just sent:
Hi, I have an InFocus CRT projector, a 9500LC. Can you tell me if you can get bulbs for it, and how much they are?

It's sleezy yes, but it's in the public domain. I'm more irked by the fact the 3 toed sloth apparently doesn't know sentences begin with the letter of the first word in CAPS!! But then what should I expect from 9 year old Hajjii sitting in a tent in India. Give the kid a break. He's just trying to feed his family of 40. It isn't like they have a White Castle there where you an get a bag o' burgers for $5.00.

That was a complete joke, I thought it was so ridiculous you might have caught it
I am usually always having fun when I post here!! even though the way I write it is hard to notice,, BUT I use the CRT soap opera site as recreation time, time away from real problems
I looked at it closer this morning and yes it seems like he has pretty well the same exact list that curt has compiled here.
Difference is curt offers them for free here with only a hint of a donation being mentioned while this guy is asking £0.99. How will this negatively affect Curt ?
Granted the guy is lazy and sleazy and not that ambitious!! I would have started them out for 10 bucks like they used to be from frebird or whoever used to sell manuals .
I'll Call a buddy who works in copyright law Maybe if his list was compiled in the exact same order as curt compiled his list then Curt might be able to get a copyright infringement Law suite

My guess is that it's probably someone who visits the site regularly, maybe even someone well known on here and probably reading this now, so we probably can't spoof him. I bet he doesn't even have all the stuff he has advertised, downloaded. He will just get it after a sale. Why take up his harddrive space.
Hey, let me post all my manuals that I aquired and/or paid for so he can sell and make money from.

Very nice. One suggestion is to edit your heading to include the words projectors, firmware and software so if someone uses these words in a search, both of the auctions will come up. Without the word projector, if someone searchs "projector manual" , his auction will come up and not yours.

I saw that . That might help reduce his sales, BUT too bad you couldn't list something that would come up with the same exact listings as his and offer the manuals for free .
Bruce .

Yeah, it's definitely from this site as the order of the documents is identical.
But is there really anything wrong with this? All of the stuff is stuff I scammed from somewhere else and I'm not even sure if legally you can sell it.
The only thing he did wrong as to use up about 4 Gb of my bandwidth (that we pay for) to download the items and it's maybe not a very nice thing to do in that he doesn't even seem to re-organize the info in any way (from what I can tell).
It took me years to pull together all that day. It took him hours to download it all. Oh well!
Kal

Curt does offer service manuals, but only for older projectors - exactly what this guy is offering. This guy has obviously taken every single manual we have here and put them on a CD. Even the section names and document names are identical (straight cut and paste) and text like:
Note: The Esprit 300/500 are the same as the Ampro 1500/2000, except that they have analog convergence (ie: manual pots to turn instead of menu driven via remote).
It's all from our site.
Kal
