I agree. The SBYV27 is a good choice for the added drive clamp diodes. If you have to use smb the following will work fine. In fact, just about any 1A 50V or more fast rectifier would do the job.

I need to repair the 07 if possible before putting expensive parts in it. I'll post tonight what parts I've replaced and hopefully I can get some idea's where to look next.

look at the schematic of the 02 or 03p.
for 2035-02p:

Good morning ! (At least here)
I soldered through the night and finished more mods , thanks again nash for all the effort (and everybody else who contributed)
Will post my finished board pics as soon as all Boards are done (if anybody is interested)
A few minutes ago i noticed that my VIM is a 50-2035-03p
My question is what mods on the VIM of this Revision would be suitable?
I went through the whole thread but i am still not clear what todo on the VIM
Cheers
Ronald

I never got around to do any Vim Mods but hopefully this winter I will try to get to it, but no promises . What I was planing was adding a 1uf COG ceramic cap or tantalum on each side of the RGB chips and then a 22uf electrolytic low esr cap across the +5v/-5v pins on the RGB chips, also the same for the SD5401 and the AD835's. Also add more capacitance on the incoming 5 volt and 15 volt +/- rails of the board. Lifting the +/- 5 volt fuses and add a 220uh inductor to each in series with the fuse.
That is just a general idea. Id like to use all oscons if possible maybe for the 22uf caps on the chip rails.
there are some other ideas id like to try resistor wise in the video path.

@Nashou66
Well i guess i will play Guinea pig this time. Got two weeks off from 23.December.
So a lot of time to solder and play around
Will assemble my machine as soon as all boards are finished and make some screenshots.
Than i will start with the VIM Mods you suggested and post my results and even more screenshots
so we got a comparison.
Thanx
Ronald

don't know yet, was sick for the last 10 days and too tired to work in the freezing garage. Plus there's this stupid NEC sitting on my bench I need to part out. Plan to get to it this week or no later than Christmas.

was just going to post a message.
i put one of the two uc3709n in (u1) and left the vreg in.
anyway, this chip works, i`m going to replace the other mc34151, then test and after all is well remove the vreg.

The recommended on state VGS is +20V and the recommended off state VGS is between -2V to -5V.
this is from the cmf10120d datasheet.
as of now i have a gate source voltage of 20 volt with the vreg lm317 minus a little drop across the diode and maybe a little drop because of the transformer T1.
i will leave the vreg in for now as it works perfect this way.
btw, both mc34151 are now replaced with the uc3709n.
scott, what would be the voltage drop if any across T1?

I believe that the transformer is 1:1:1:1. So an input of 24vpp should give 24v output. The clamp diode will offset the drive about -1V so turn off will be about -1V and about +23V for turn on. Maybe put two diodes in series so turn off is -2V and turn on is +22V. Please check the drive without the deflection rail connected (remove one of the big shunts on the HDM).

the vreg is now gone.
scott i have put 2 diodes in series now, that was a good idea.
dragan, if you are going to use the sbyv27 you`d best place the diodes not on the backside of the board as there is not enough space.

Your talking about putting 2 of the wire leaded Diode's in series like the factory did on the video neck-boards? If so, then yes, this will need to go on the front and the small 10K resistor on the back.
