Has anyone ever heard of a NEC PJ6000EN projector TV?
I can't find anything about it.
It has a screen and a mirror that opens up and projects it back onto the screen.
Does anyone know what's in it?
Thanks
Dave

Circa 1984-5 I think? All sorts of companies made sets like that, RCA, Hitachi and NEC, etc. Most had an internal tuner, 12 channels, tuneable with those little thumbwheels. Video only, no HDTV, etc.

Got a pix of it?

I think that sadly yes I can pics.
I thought she had misread the model number and it was a pg6000 so I told her I would take it(free).
Then well I am an idiot so I put it in the truck and brought it home.
I will put the screen back on and grab some pics.
Sigh another "freebie" I am going to regret. Sad

They are still really cool sets. They are definitely unique, and hard to find these days. Might I say collectible? I have a Sony version of that type of set, the KP-5000. Once properly calibrated, it throws a nice 480i picture.

I thought it was really cool that's probably why I still brought it home(don't tell the wife. Wink )
But this one needs a lot of calibrating.
It does have video input and I hooked up a dvd player and the picture was there but really really bad.

Here are some pics

Thanks anyways Doug.
Does anyone with a similiar model know how to get into any kind of setup mode?
It has a really simple test mode that brings up a single cross hair for red blue and green but that is all I have found so far.

This should all be mechanical via the board with the pots. If it has a test switch push it or feed a external RF test pattern to it. Doug

Doh, of course I can just feed it an external signal to adjust.
Thanks

They do look weird and they seem to have a plate right in the middle, very strange looking.

as I understand it, in a CRT PJ the tube would be the red X in this diagram:
