Do you mean arranging them in a video wall configuration or actually stacking two or more projectors on top of each other?
I'll bet your link is using digital projectors to be seen in sunlight. An RP CRT projector can be very bright, but not THAT bright.

I'm meaning to stack them on top of one another. They definitely are using HD digital projectors.

The max I have seen is 6 CRT PJs stacked in an over-under side-by-side configuration:
CRT1 CRT2
CRT3 CRT4
CRT5 CRT6
That was a custom built setup by a German (?) company though.
They specialized in these sorts of designs. A double-stacked version of their 9" model came up a couple of times on Ebay. It was 2 9" CRT PJs in one chassis in an over-under arrangement.

I remeber seeing that mentiond and looking it up, it was very intreasting and brought up the discussion of putting two crt's into a single new custom chasis

Same as a stack, only not on a modern digital chassis with little to no drift. Yikes.
Guys, they're not stacking in those Windowgain advertising displays.
It looks like they're just taking 2, 4, or 6 (depending on screen size and lighting conditions) commodity digital projectors and edge-blending them onto 3M Vikuity rear-projection film applied to the window. You can see the edge-blends in some of the images. It's pretty innovative really. Pretty inexpensive hardware-wise, but businesses in high traffic areas will eat that up. There's really nothing expensive about the system other than whatever they're using for a blending device. OK, well...that, and the bulbs, which would probably only last 3-6 months if they're run 24/7. No problem, though. Whoever is installing those systems probably leases it to the customer, so they just roll your maintenance costs into the lease/rental fees. Pretty cool. Makes me want to do something with it, but like so many other things, it would be hard to make money with a niche in a metro area as small as my own.
