I was watching American Gangster the other night and I noticed on some dark scenses that there is some video noise in the back ground (sort of like very light pixelation). I have never had this before. IS this normal with this movie or is it being generated though my sources.

my current hook up is momitsu via dvi, into HD Leeza to a barcco rcvds 05 and then out to my projector. I did just do the joust mod on it but I don't think think that has anything to do with it.

thanks.

Video noise should look a little bit different than compression artifacts. Try a test disc with all white and all black screens and see if you see noise. Try some other dark discs. The rcvds 05 is known for being noisy, so could be the source. Also, I've not seen an older barco (non-S) that doesn't have some video noise.

THanks Dave
I'll check that tonight.

I keep meaning to pull out that rcvds 05 and just go directly from my leeza to my projector.
