I am having problems using the Barco projector control software.

I have checked several sources and the only version of the software seems to be 1.0.

When I start it up, I get Error 3, followed by Error 45, then it scans but does not find any projectors.

I am connecting to my Barco 708.

I have tried two different laptop/OS combinations under Windows 98 and Vista, with different cables.

ANY IDEAS? 1.

The reason I am doing this is that I am having problems with my IR remote control:
- over a couple of weeks it became less effective until it would not work at all
- change batteries and tried another remote - no go
- tried to use the built-in controller, but it had stopped working too - unless I put a jack into the Remote socket on the PJ
- tried connecting with a cable - no go (the lights lit up on the remote, but the keys did not work)
(tried both mono and stereo cables - no difference - the manual shows a mono cable)

ANY IDEAS? 2.

My 801s had a similar problem when I first got it. Taking out the convergence board and reseating it a few times fixed the issue. Might be worth a try. As far as the software I am not sure, It worked fine for me on XP. Did it give you the same errors on both 98 and Vista?

OK, thanks for the tip. I will try re-seating the convergence board.

As to the Barco software, problem now solved.

I am running on a Vista machine, which did not work, so I tried a Win98 machine which was OK.

I then tried running in Backward Compatibility mode (right click the app, go to properties, compatibility, and choose the OS). That still didn't work. I could see the PJ but it thought it was in standby.

I then ticked Run as Adminstrator and all was fine - Yeh!!
