|
|
I've had my marquee 8500 for about 4 months now. Most of the time I leave it plugged in and off. After reading some suggestions here, I decided to unplug the unit when I know I won't be using it for a few days or more.
Whenever I unplug the unit, it loses all the Recall Memories and convergence settings. Seems like the battery on the CLM board is the most likely culprit. Is there any way to test the battery without replacing it? I'm not handy with a soldering gun, so the process described at ETech http://www.etechvideo.com/techtip6.htm worries me a bit.
If I have to replace the battery, is there a good place to buy a replacement?

How much are they? Do I need to pull the board out to get the part number?

just solder a battery holder on it from a computer motherboard then you can replace the battery easily with a standard battery. i did it two years ago and still works fine.
