|
|
Barry mentioned that we need to contact Moome to get the $10 refund for repair shipping cost. What's the procedure for this?
Update:
Ok, I got in touch with Moome. I gave him my PayPal account name and requested a refund. He responded that I needed to send him a PayPal invoice, and gave me his PayPal account name. This strikes me as odd, but what the heck. Maybe it's like Mail-in rebates. They make it as much trouble as possible, hoping you'll decide it's more trouble that it's worth.
So I'll try to make it as simple as possible. The official, extra special, step by step procedure is:
1) Log in to your PayPal account.
2) Click on the "Request Money" button near top left of the page.
3) In the "Recipient's Email" box enter Moome's PayPal account name, moome@seed.net.tw
4) In the "Amount" box enter $10.
5) In the "Currency" box enter your currency (defalt is "U.S. Dollars").
6) In the "type" box select anything OTHER than "eBay Items". I selected "Services".
7) In the "E-mail Subject" box enter something like "Repair Shipping Refund".
8 ) In the "Note" box do whatever. I left it blank.
9) Click the "Continue" button.
10) The next page will allow you to check your request and be sure everything is right. If not, go back and edit it. If everything's correct, click "Request Money" button.
11) Sit back a wait (I would think it could take a couple of days) for your $10, minus a small PayPal fee.

Just send a request for payment to Moome through Paypal and he'll take care of the rest. Got mine within 24 hours.

Is that the regular protocol? Is everyone who sends a box to Barry supposed to request the $10 through Paypal? I thought Barry was just going to drop $10 in the box, though I understand getting those nasty US greenbacks is probably a pain for him.

Yes, that was the original plan but it was too much hassle for Barry. The option now is to either request expedited return shipping or get a $10 refund directly from Moome.

Yes, thats it exactly.
I'm sorry to have flopped like that but it is a hastle to get to the bank and the first time i did, my bank did not have any American bills smaller than a $20.
Its a good idea to have this thread to give a procedure. I'm not a moderator on Moome's forum, I'll ask Kal to update the first post with details. Or make me a mod so I can do it.
I'll update the repair thread and add this info. I'll also add it to the address replies too.

Good one! I'll use that next time I owe someone money. "Sorry, I'm finding it's just too much of a hassle to pay you."
Just kidding! Thanks for fixing my box!
