Hi,

i use my ECP 4100 with a holocard. The CRT runs on 1280x768 at 75Hz (60KHz) and the picture looks very good. Worked well but i got 2 problems atm.

1. convergence on blue:

The CRT is in ceiling mounted with front projection. As you can see in the piture above the blue in the lower left corner looks like that and cant be convergenced to fit with the green and red on. I tried everything, but nothing works. Only when i reduce the frequence from 75Hz to 50Hz, but than the picture didnt look that good and i can see a flickering picture.
Can i adjust anything else to get a good cenv on blue? or is anything defective in the CRT? I cant understand why only the blue is out of Conv, not the other tubes.

2. color linearity

The picture in movies looks very good, but when i send a pure white picture to the crt, i can see that the middle of the picture is white, the left side(blue tube is on the left) is more bluish and the right side(red tube is on the right) is more redish. Can this be adjusted with this CRT? Or can i use a programm on the PC to regulate somthing?

Thanks for your help, especialy for the first problem which is my main problem Smile

regards
Chris

Hmm, seems this is not a usual problem. Wink

The 2nd problem is fixed now(changed the blue focus and problem was solved), only the first is still existing.

Reseat the socketed chips on the convergence board, press down hard on each one of them, or do a hard reset. The CPU might have glitched.

I removed all ic from the sockets, and put them back. But problem is not gone, seems it got worser, the problem is now also on the 50Hz setting Shocked

Can a setting cause this problem? So only the blue color is afffected.
As i can see the dip switches on the new style convergence board are set wrong. In the manual there is the setting of SW1:

1 - off
2 - on
3 - off
4 - off
P60 jumper on.

But the switch was:
1 - off
2 - off
3 - on
4 - off

But i dont know for shure what on or off is. I think switch to Open = on and switch to the number = off??

/Edit: Oh , i was wrong, the schematic of the conv module showed me that On = switch to the number and OPEN = off. This means, the setting on the board is:

1 - on
2 - on
3 - off
4 - on

Should i change the dip switches?

Thanks for the help Smile

Today was a great day.

I fixed all the problems i got with the ECP 4100. And now the picture looks great. Smile

Problem was all mechanical. The PreOwner assambled the tube holding plate for the blue tube wrong. and a screw also was missing. I did a full setup of the optics so picture was fully sharp in center and all corners(never did this before). I also adjusted the yoke on the tube so that the picture of the red and blue was better on the green one. Now all color problems and convergence problems are gone. Was a lot of work and took 5h for me, but worth every minute.
So if you got any problems with your ECP(or maybe any CRT) -> RTFM and mechanical adjust the crt, this will help alot.

thanks all for the help Smile

regards
Chris
