Wasn't my doing, but considering it's true, why not let the 7000+ people on the mailing list know?

Actually, we just let almost 10,000 people know. Smile

But again, read the text that I wrote. While HD DVD is dead, I still consider it a viable alternative and point people to some of the deals that can be had. As well, in my "why HD on disc is better than SD DVD" section I mention that both Blu-ray and HD DVD are equal.

Let the reader choose what they want to adopt.

Kal

FYI: For those that haven't read it, a copy is available here: http://www.curtpalme.com/temp_email_HD-DVD_dead.html

I guess I should probably stick it in the 'newsletter' section of the website.

Kal

EDIT: Damned. I was trying to do my best to spell it correctly as "HD DVD" and not "HD-DVD". But I goofed on the title! There are a ton of other silly typo's too. I really should read my stuff before I send it out. Crap!

Oh yeah, and the $150 payout should be $150M. <Slaps forehead>

If Paramount/Dreamworks was only paid $150, it's not surprising that HD DVD lost. Smile

Kal, I saw your $150 error right away. Ooops! Pretty funny. I immediately had this vision of some exec whipping out a $150 from his wallet and saying, "Here ya go - no way you can refuse this. Now, no running over the Blu-ray guys' office until we say it's OK... OK?

I like your busted DVD image, too. Nice touch - ya bastard.
