|
|
I bought it being told it was for a g70. WRONG!
The HV lead is on the wrong side of the bell.
It has an NEC lead on it it. I suspect it's for a 6pg or something like that.
The number is...vt7om72kb22-g
Any ideas?
thanks

I had taken these but didn't post them because they are a bit blurry. Is there a part of the tube other then the label that would be informative? Thanks for your help...

SIGH!! NEVER buy anything from a seller with no feedback.
I went through the claims process already...
Here's how it went....
From PayPal: PayPal on 11/29/2007 01:18 PST
Buyer escalated this dispute to a Claim.
From Buyer: Espresso Arts, LLC on 11/29/2007 01:18 PST
Seller indicated through the dispute process that he didn't realize that he had sent the wrong tubes and said that he would refund my money within a week. I haven't heard anything from the seller since his last email sent in the dispute. I wish to seek a refund for the tubes since they are not for a g70 projector as he indicated during the auction. Thanks you.
From Buyer: Espresso Arts, LLC on 11/16/2007 15:11 PST
Please send refund payment through Paypal so they have a record of the transaction. Please send it before 11/30 or I will have to escalate the case. I will send your tubes back as soon I receive payment.
From Seller: Gregory Pogan on 11/16/2007 09:16 PST
I'm sorry that they did not work I will be able to refund your money within the next week......how where or should I send check directly to your mailing address....
From Buyer: Espresso Arts, LLC on 11/14/2007 20:29 PST
These tubes are not new. You said in the auction "they have very little wear". How could the have little wear if they are new. Regardless, if you think they are new, they don't fit this projector. If you ordered the wrong tubes and didn't figure it out, that's not my fault, you need to return my money, and I will return your tubes.
From Seller: Gregory Pogan on 11/14/2007 12:57 PST
these tubes are new in the box and ordered specifically for the g70 i do have the Whole unit here and never attempted exchange this error was not made intentionally and I dont want them back.......
From Buyer: Espresso Arts, LLC on 11/13/2007 12:03 PST
Mr Pogan, Please respond to this case. I wish to work this out in a reasonable manner but this will be about the 5th email I've sent you with no response from you. At this point I am left with no other choice but to seek damages against you, please take this seriously and respond. Thank you.
From Buyer: Espresso Arts, LLC on 11/11/2007 19:56 PST
The tubes ordered were described by the seller as being for blue and green CRT tubes for a Sony VPH-G70 video projector. The tubes will not fit inside the projector, the anode wire is coming out of the tube in a location that prohibits the tube from being mounted in the projector. The seller did not show the side of the tube with the anode wire in his pictures. I can provide pictures show how there is absolutely no way that these tubes can be mounted in a g70 projector. I have emailed the seller several times and have had no response. I would like to return the tubes and have my money refunded. Thank you.
And now, 3 months later I received this..
Recently, a seller that you have done business with in the past
(gpogan@hotmail.com) has contacted us in regards to a dispute that was
closed on 12/10/07. The seller is stating that the items have not been
returned to him yet, and this is why he has not resolved the remaining
outstanding amount that is due to you. The address provided by the
seller for the return of the items is:
P.O. Box 8148
St Thomas, VI 00801
United States
If you are returning the items to this seller, please contact him via
email and provide a tracking number that he can monitor online to track
the progress of his items.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Sincerely,
Michael
PayPal Resolution Services

And responded:
How do I know I'm going to get my money refunded?
I have received nothing from Paypal indicating that I was to return the tubes since escalting the claim.
I was refunded $200 from the $340 I paid and NO instructions or feedback or anything from paypal.
If I understand this correctly, I will spend $40 in postage returning the tubes at which time
I will be refunded $100 and be out a total of $80 in shipping through no fault of my own.
The seller has admitted that he posted the model of tubes incorrectly and I don't see why I should be be forced
To pay for the shipping charges. I will however spend the additional postage if I am guaranteed the return of my $100.
Thank you.
NEVER buy anything from Gregory Pogan in the Virgin Islands!!

The guy has never returned any of my emails. The couple of responses that I posted during the dispute are the only thing I have ever heard from him. Poking around paypal, I notice that they claimed that they tried to refund the full amount but the funds were unavailable. Maybe I should just take him to small claims. Does anybody know if the court settles these things over the phone as I'm sure he won't buy a plane ticket? Then again, winning is no guarantee of collection. Maybe I can still get a few bucks for these on ebay and cut my losses. What are 46" RPTV's worth these days? $400?
One kind of person does this kind of thing to another?.. I don't think he was trying to be a crook when he auctioned the tubes, but I guess his non sense responses during the dispute show why people like this are never able to develop good ebay feedback to begin with.

If you paid by credit card do a chargeback with your credit card compnay (if you are a seller you want to pull an money from you paypal account as they may freeze it when you do this). Credit card companies are usually easier to deal with than PreyPal. If you didn't pay by credit card do so in the future as it gives you options if the PreyPal system does work for you. BTW, it is normal for PreyPal to require the buyer to ship back the item for better or worse. I have actually never done a chargeback for a PayPal purchase but that is what I have heard from folks who have gone through this process.

The deflection angle is all wrong too.
It's totally different to a G70 tube.
It's not a NEC tube, either. Both are PANASONIC tubes, not Mitsubishi.
You got ripped. But you also should have done some basic research...sorry, but you know the saying..."buyer beware"..
Seems you got some money back. Now you need to find a Mitsu rear pro TV!

What kind of research should I have done? The tubes for the g70 are supposed to be MEC tubes and MEC stands for Mitsubishi Electric Corporation which Panasonic is a subsidiary of. The guy was also auctioning a g70 and in fact in the g70 auction had these tubes pictured next to the g70 picture. The auction said they tubes were for a g70.
The law provides protection for people being sold one thing and receiving another so it's really not a case of buyer beware.
It's not an "as-is" sale, it's fraud. Sorry if I sound defensive but your statement sorta rubs salt in the wound.
I also thought that paypal would be more responsive and provide better protection if I had a problem, another lesson learned.
I've had it with Ebay/Paypal's increasing prices and lousy service. Oh Well...

MEC is Matsushita Electric Company, aka. Panasonic.
I have heard Mitsubishi referred to the same way, hence the confusion..

Oh Dang....and I felt so authoritative too. The gods are against my pursuit of CRT nirvana.
It's been about ten years since I was in the stereo repair biz, I guess the age is taking it's toll..
I guess the little Mitsubishi logo would have been a red flag...
Well, in my defense, there really is a Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, it's just the wrong MEC.
