the 28 screws you reference: are they the same as the fill screws: 6-32? how long? if not these...what? thanks again.

No, they are a different size (not sure what size they are). I reused the rust ones I found. Just gave them a clean with some light oil, wiped them down and re-used them.

noting wrong with that, a little surface rust afetr 10 years is not a big deal. I just had a bunch pf the right size so I didn't want to clean the old ones. I think they are in fact the same size as the fill holes 6-32 x 3/8" long. They have a different head, fill holes are pan head and the bellow retainer ring are socket haed cap screws. I used normal Phillips on the bellow as it's quicker and easier to tighten them all down.

I'm just a tight-fisted Scotsman so re-using rusty screws, nails and anything else I can lay my hands on is standard practice here. Hey, we invented hankerchiefs so that we could save a few coppers by washing them out every few months or so rather than spending money on throw-away paper tissues!

My mistake about the size, I'd have sworn they were bigger. Much easier to remove if they are replaced by Phillips head screws. I'm annoyed now, I'd have changed them if I'd known they were the same size, saves a bit of hassle if I need to replace/remove the bellows again (hopefully not for another few years though!). This and the changing of the battery holder on the CLM for a normal PC battery holder are really great ideas, both of which I missed the oppurtunity to implement Mad

I used stainless steel 6-32 x 3/8" button head screws for the bellows and the fill screws.
