I am about to do a checkup and want to check and adjust the 17.5v and 48v
but have problems finding where to connect ground from the voltmeter.

I thought it would be on the frame (ground) but when i do, i measure 100v+

so where do i connect black lead?

And how do i get to 48v adjustment with board in the pj?

It is indeed the chassis metal for ground. No way should you be measuring 100 volts there, the projector would have blown up a long time ago. Check your meter! The heatsink of the SMPS will measure 160 volts, did you connect the lead there?

The 48 volts is the H width trimpot on the SMPS sub board.

Hwidth voltage should be measured using 15.6 kHz source (composite-, s-video or internal 15.6 kHz pattern), with other res it's all over the place.

If you have enough adjustment range for all your resolutions, then I wouldn't measure it.

I tried with svhs input, maybe composite is a must? or internal?

S-video is also fine for measurement.

What is the 17.5V's for? If it's wrong, how does it show on the pj?

Update:

it was 18.1v so i adjusted it to 17.5. But i see no difference in picture..
