With dreamsetup I meant a dreamsetup that is at least slightly under the 10.000$US range.

Like I said: I want a big scope screen so it's not a problem to mask it down for a smaller but sharper picture. I'm going to buy a digital (a next generation 2k Panasonic if the design and quality doesn't change) in the not so far future (not farther away than 2 years) so it's not a bad idea to buy a bigger screen I think.

I use a 12 foot screen with my 8" marquee its all about personal prefrence. this is a 12 foot da lite 1.3 gain screen from a marquee 8500 with hd color filterd lenses which reduce light out put and I think it looks great.

It is, but we can objectively measure things like brightness and other things. We can also subjectively see things like softness. It is true that one may be willing to sacrifice absolute picture quality for other preferences and that is why I noted it is preference. But, I think it should be pointed out that a huge set up is definitely less than optimal and requires some sacrifices.

Do you have a CIH set up as OP is planning? In other words, is that 1.85:1 image using only 75% of your phosphor width? If so, I'd like to see a vertical 1-on/1-off pattern.
