I can understand being upset with Netflix about their decision but I'm not sure of the longevity of the switch either considering Blockbuster was the first to announce some degree of exclusivity in the "format war":

http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/17/blockbuster-chooses-blu-ray-is-the-war-over/
http://www.forbes.com/2007/06/18/bluray-blockbuster-hddvd-markets-equity-cx_er_0618markets06.html
http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2008/02/11/netflix-follows-blockbusters-blu-ray-lead.aspx

and spouts this obvious FUD on their website:

"[Blu-ray] Blu-RayTM: the highest of the HD resolutions." lol....

I have both formats so Netflix's announcement doesn't impact me as much but it seems a little like dropping the pot in favor of the kettle. If Toshiba calls it quits I'd imagine Blockbuster's position isn't going it end up being much different from Netflix's wrt phasing out HD.
