I currently am satisfied with my 8500 with Moome combo and this popped up . It is the only local one I have ever seen and for the price it seems like a decent deal . From what I have read it is a NEC 6pg xtra juiced up with line doubler does it look like they got it right ? As a backup Would it suffice in a emergency ? One more thing can you store CRT in a sub zero garage for an extended period without damage ?http://anchorage.craigslist.org/ele/565142796.html

Looks like a good deal to me, even if the tubes are bad the lenses are worth $150 alone.

I just spoke with the owner and there is no remote and he is clueless about the connections . Will it even function without the remote ?

That's the first CRT I saw setup back in 1998. I watched Star Wars the LD on it.

There's a pannel at the back of the projector with controls on it. You can turn it on and do some basic menu stuff but you really need a setup remote.

Take a lap top with a break out cable with you and try a basic 640x480 signal into it.

Uses the PG RC6051 or XG RC6321 service remote. You will need it to set it up. Look at the tube condition real close. The Extra uses a shorter blue and red P16LJE09 tube then the green P16LJE08 so can be hard to find in usable condition. Also check for scrambled menus. Doug

Friday... Mostly sunny. Patchy fog in the morning. Highs around 10. North wind to 10 mph.

Friday Night... Mostly clear. Lows zero to 10 below except around 25 below east anchorage. Northeast wind to 10 mph.

Saturday and Saturday Night... Clear. Highs around 10. Lows zero to 10 below except around 25 below east anchorage. Northeast wind 10 to 20 mph.

Sunday... Sunny. Highs around 10.

Sunday Night through Thursday... Mostly cloudy. Lows zero to 10 above. Highs around 20.

I wouldn't worry so much about cold storage temperatures. As long as it doesn't get cold enough to freeze the glycol I think you will be fine.

I've used my G70 when the ambient temperature is below freezing.

Cold storage will likely be fine. $200 is a good deal, especially if the CRTs are usable. However- I have been storing my barco outside this winter, and the cold already caused one of the HV leads to develop a crack and leak electricity.

Remind me not to visit your HT in the winter.
