Anyone ever seen or done something like this? Im unable to put it infront of the couch or on the ceiling so I was thinking of building a floor riser and putting it inside then the couch on top. Good idea ? Bad idea? I know it would probably look pretty weird and high so I wanna try to make it as fit as possible with out restricting air flow.

I have seen pictures of systems like this. Personally I wouldn't do it unless I was forced into it with no alternative.

To get an image at eye level you may need to tilt the screen relative to the wall or you will run out of lens flapping, IMO focus ability will be restricted with a setup like this unless you have the screen very low.

What projector do you have, I woud do this with a Barco or Ampro before I would try it with a Marquee

i thought about this too since i was unable/unwilling to ceiling mount. but where do your legs go when you are on the couch... either covering the projector or on a coffee table also blocking the projector. kinda limits seating, but if you can live with that do it. i ended up buying a huge 4ft square padded leather ottoman and cutting a hole in the side and dropping it over the projector. i mention this because you may have the problem i did.... bump the furniture and you can screw up all that time you spent perfectly setting up your projector. If you do the couch, make sure you fix the projector to the floor separately from the couch. nice benefit to the setup is the projector can disappear. no one ever notices the projector in my living room until its turned on. much higher waf/saf

Floor mount works, seen a G90 done this way, no problems at all with the image. In the riser sounds like a good idea, just make sure it's easily accessible.

I put my couch on some legs to see how it would look

I would have a floorboard under the couch to rest your legs.

It looks kinda funny and pretty high at the moment so I dunno if im going to do this after all.

I would go with this idea, it will mean you can tilt the back of the PJ up and reduce the amount of keystone correction which means you use more of the phosphorous and get a little more brightness.
