Am after some help, its a bit difficult to explain but here goes.

I have a Sony VPH-1271QM with mint CRT's but am having an issue with a darkish line down the centre of my picture.

Image of line attached below.

I originally made myself a lead / box that converts Scart RGB + Composite video to RGBHV so that the projector could sync correctly, this worked fine but I had a darkish line down the middle of my picture on bright / white scenes, I thought perhaps the line was caused by my handy work / bad design upsetting some signal so I went out and spent $250 on a proper box that again converts Scart RGB + Composite Video outputs to RGBHV, (J S Technology RGB to plasma box) this resulted in the same darkish line down any bright picture. )o:

Any Scart source from my laserdisc player to my Sky digital box gives me this dark line on any bright image / scene, it does only seem to be affecting the green this is the only tube giving me this line.

I have taken a picture of my Laserdisc player outputting a green image (see attached) the line sticks out like a saw thumb on this, note projector is not converged properly (had to pull it forward) but it makes no difference to the dark line.

Thought perhaps the green CRT has got a bit of burn in but if I move the image over the tube face using the shift function the line follows the image proving it not to be CRT burn in.

Also if I feed an RGBHV signal from my PC to it I get no line what so ever, stick just Composite video from any device in PJ it also works fine with no dark line, Aghhhhhh what's going on.

The input info displayed under the page key:

Frequency Horizontal, fH=15.6khz
Frequency Vertical, fV=50Hz
H/C-Sync: NEG
V-Sync: NEG
Input Signal: RGB

PAL UK standard

I have ruled out the video source devices and the lead / box I bought and made so it does seem to be the projector that is the problem but it works fine with signal from PC, my brain hurts AGGHHHHHH!

Any ideas what's causing this line / how I can get rid of it??

Thanks for your time.

Mine does something similar, only horizontially if you mess with a particular adjustment, i think it may be the MAIN KEYS pot. When I fire it up laterI'll play with it.
