|
|
Hey, I'm trying to get 1920x1080 at 72Hz or 96Hz interlaced, as defined by Powerstrip to work with the Moome VIM HD input card, and they just won't....
They work fine on analogue, but not through the HDMI input of the Moome card.
I'm defining the resolutions with Powerstrip, and they are below the 165Mhz limit, yet they won't display properly. The only custom res I can get is 48Hz progressive...
What am I doing wrong ??

It's tricky to get that working.
I set up the resolution in powerstrip, and have to switch the Windows resolution dialog to 1080i25. It does switch to 1080i96 then, even though windows shows you 25 hz.
I don't know why it is 25 Hz atm, cause it used to be 29.97 before
So try all of the interlaced entries (25, 29.97, 30)

Sorry for the doltish response, but can you post a step by step walkthrough of how to do that exactly ??
I'm just a point and click user, and getting powerstrip to do what I want was a struggle to begin with, I'm not sure I'd be able to do what you recommend, seeing that I don't even know exactly what it IS that you recommend...
Also, is it possible to change resolutions EASILY after you get 1080i 96Hz to work ?

I really can't tell you exactly which steps are required (I simply don't remember).
Once it is working though, switching to that resolution works all the time using the Windows display properties. Set it to 1920x1080, click advanced, choose 25 Hz from the Monitor tab, click Apply or OK.

That's the convelouted way I had to make the Nvidia 8600 take custom resolutions. That an their powerstrip like drivers.
Unfortunately they don't remember the settings after a reboot.
By going to the Display Properties-->Settings tab--->click Advanced button bottom right--->Clcik Adaptor tab--->clik List All Modes button
This will get you into the spot to select the refresh rates. I had to select 1920x1080 30hz interlaced to start with.
Maybe this will get you started.

Yeah, my Geforce 6800 was like that too. But at least it works for both ATI and Nvidia once you have it configured.

I too struggled with that on Nvidia card, I knew I had it working just fine, shut it off and returned the computer to a friends house who was getting me to help him with it. Turned it on and poof, nothing there...
What we figured out *I think* was that saving the resolution as a "Profile" permanently added the desired refresh to the optional rates one could choose.
