Doug Baisey and I discussed this problem at length today.
Doug by the way is extremely patient and stepped me through a lot of tests to help determine what was wrong. We/he never did come to a real conclusion so I thought I would throw it out here again.
All of my alignment functions work fine with the exception of the H PIN adjustment. It does NOTHING. The V PIN does work fine. All of my other H adjustments work too.
When I switch to red or blue, I can move the ZONE H adjustments, but not (G) overall. The Pin balance also works fine in all directions.
I re-seated all the cage cards but to no avail.
Anyone have any thoughts?

I wonder if it could be software related. These things have a lot of computer like stuff going on in them. I would try and disconnecting all power, let it set for a while and then do a restart. Or maybe you need to do a clean out of all the settings and start over.

This PJ has been unplugged for about 4 months. There is no good way to clear out an NEC XG without major headaches. I have tried starting a new input but that didn't make a difference. I also tried normalizing a complete input and starting over, but that didn't help either.

The reason I suggested this was, I remember trying out different system boards in my PJ and I noticed it changed the way some functions would work. Or was the wave board, it's been quite a while, but I do remember it made some changes.

I would suggest pulling all of the connectors that are attached to all of the boards and cards, clean them and reseat them. I just did this with my PG along with the edge cards and also treated every electrical connection exept high voltage with Stabilant 22 and it cleared up much of the same problems. It seemed to stabilize the whole PJ, don't forget about doing the ground wires too.

Yes a PG xtra. I will soon be completly dissassembling my XG110 and then my 852 and every connector, wire, ground plate, and edge card will be cleaned and treated. The Stabilant22 aparantly increases the electrical connection to aproach solder quallity. It is not a cleaner or a lubricant but it actually enhances the electrical connection for up to 15 years without allowing crosstalk. Just don't use it on the high voltage connections.

I talked with Doug today about this too. WE more are less on the same page:
1) Never seen this problem.
2) Problem is most likely system/wave/osc. board.
One other thing: I did a hard reset a long time ago on an XG that was perfect with the exception of the point convergence in the bottom left corner of the red. There was a tiny hook in the crosshatch that neither bow, pin nor point got rid of. Couldn't sell the set that way. I did a hard EPROM reset, and that cured it. That could be your issue as well, but I'd send either Doug or myself your boards for testing/repair before doing a hard reset.

Glad i could challenge you guys.
What boards would I need to send? All the cage card boards?
I may just live with it for now. It took me 3 years to get my room to this point and i really want to watch for a while.

I didn't wait dammit, i busted my ass for three years and was now hoping to watch some Stuff.
Right side facing the PJ or from behind?
Also It'll have to wait until after the SuperBowl.
