I AM THE PROUD NEW OWNER OF A VISION ONE, YOUR INFO HAS BEEN EXTREMELY HELPFUL IN THIS LONG PROCESS (2 YRS) OF FIGURING OUT WHAT ONE I COULD AFFORD, AND WOULD ALSO BE THE BEST FOR ME, THANKS FOR ALL THE PREVIOUS EMAIL RESPONSES AND THE PUBLISHED INFO. WHAT SCREEN WOULD YOU RECOMMEND TO USE WITH THIS UNIT, ALSO WHAT PROCESSORS WORK WELL WITH IT, I HAVE A VP410, IS THERE BETTER ONE IN NORMAL PEOPLES PRICE RANGE, SAME WITH SCREEN WANT A GOOD ONE AND CAN WAIT BUT CANT SPEND 7K EITHER, WE ARE IN FINAL CONSTRUCTION PHASE OF ENTERTAINMENT ROOM (30 X 30) CANT FIND GOOD THROW DISTANCE CALC TO SEE WHAT BEST SCENARIO IS FOR CRT PLACEMENT AND GOOD SCREEN SIZE, LIKE BIG BUT DONT WANT TO SACRIFICE PICTURE QUALITY JUST TO GET BIG. AND LASTLY WHAT IS GOOD CONNECTION FROM CRT TO PROCESSOR AND COMPONENTS TO PROCESSOR, THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP

First, Welcome to the party.
Second, fill in your location, someone might be local who could give you some assistance.
Third, take a minute and talk about your setup. Room, sources, connections. What do you want to watch.
Fourth, Take a look in the screens forum for the wilsonart thread.
fifth, Caps mean you are yelling. Calm down. We're all friends here.

Hiya and Welcome!
I have bad hearing so I don't really mind the yelling.
30x30...yowza. Nice sized HT you've got planned there. You're a blend candidate with that much real estate to play with.
Any ideas how you want the room layed out? eg, bar, foosball in the HT, how many seats/tiers, audio equipment (horsepower!), sound treatment, etc.?
It works just like you're, er, working it. Just poke the Caps key and turn off your capital letters.
Greg

You press the "Caps Lock" button on the keyboard once. Then the best thing to do is to go to the main page of the website and reader the CRT Primer document. This will give you a very good overview and enough info to know which questions to ask. Unfortunatley there is no shortcuts to setting up the PJ. It will take awhile but be worth the effort.

As Dan said, start here:

Lots of bathroom reading but you'll find your list of questions (and insecurities) will be greatly diminished when you get done.
Best of luck!
Greg

How this works is that,
You ask questions
and
Someone here will try their best to answer.
The more information that you supply, the better and more relevant the answers will be.
In other words we need DETAILS.
Even the small things that you might not feel that are important could make a big difference to the answer you receive.
And welcome to the forum

8' wide will give you a very punchy picture.
I would NOT go over 10' wide unless you have a high gain screen

Screen size rule of thumb.
7" tubes, 7 foot wide screen
8" tubes, 8 foot wide screen
9" tubes, 9 foot wide screen
Your projector uses 9" tubes so go 9 foot wide. You can go smaller too.
If you use a higher gain you can go larger but just starting out I'd say stay in the 9-9 1/2 foot wide range.
Note: This is NOT a diagonal measurement. We tend to go by width first here.
and welcome to the forum.

Lots of screen options but for a very reasonably priced fixed screen alot of people go with the Wilsonart Designer white laminate. Usually under $100 for a 5' x 10' sheet. Local Home Depot can usually special order it for you. You can do a search for the threads relating to this.

Uh oh, his caps key has gone maverick again
I currently use a Da-Lite manual roll up Hi-Power. Though if you're mounting your PJ on the ceiling, the Hi-Power isn't really a good solution as it's retroflective (see the other retroflective thread going on right now..), and you'll probably want to look at one of their other materials, possibly the Video Spectra 1.5? I have no experience with that material, though...
